POSTPILL is an Emergency contraceptive pill also known as the ‘morning after’ pill and contains only one tablet of a single hormone called Levonorgestrel. World Health Organization (W.H.O.) recommends taking one tablet of 1.5mg Levonorgestrel, which is easier and more effective than taking two tablets, 12 hours apart.
Unlike older brands of Emergency contraceptive pills, POSTPILL only contains one tablet and is effective for up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex. POSTPILL can help prevent a pregnancy after unprotected intercourse, sexual attack or contraceptive failure (if, your partner’s condom skimmed out during intercourse or a woman skipped or forgot to take her birth control pill). For best results, the tablet should be taken as soon as possible after sex preferably within the first 12 hours.
